(Fall 2008 with My Grandma)

This weekend is a mix of emotions for me as tomorrow would've been my grandmother's 87th birthday and we probably would've went over my Aunty's house to celebrate. Unfortunately, she is unable to celebrate with us but I will rest on God's promise that she is in good hands. With that said, treasure those wise souls around you because one day God will need them back. Have a blessed weekend! Fulfill your purpose!

FASHION NEWS: Model Wears 110-Pound Dress on Stephane Rolland Runway

47 year old supermodel, Yasmin Le Bon caused quite a circus in the finale of Stephane Rolland's Paris Haute Couture show by wearing a scarlet metal-paneled gown weighing in at a mind-boggling 110 pounds, the Daily Mail reports. The supermodel showed her poise by carefully catwalking it down the runway along with two male escorts who helped fan out the backless gown's pleated train. The long-sleeved, silk jersey gown is approximately 45 meters (147.6 feet) in fabric at its longest point. Kudos to her for making this look so EASY! #ModelCitizen

Grace Jones, Chaka Khan & More Diva's Sing At Paris Fashion Week

WOW! Last night during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2012 it was certainly a diva’s night when Chaka Khan, Grace Jones, Gloria Gaynor, The Pointer Sisters and The Sisters Sledge rocked the stage at the Etam S/S 2012 singing 70s hit song "We Are Family." The crowd went ba-na-nas at Beaux-Arts de Paris when models catwalked down the stage to show off the latest in lingerie. Model and Diva extraordinaire 63-year-old Grace Jones looked amazing in a black leotard and tail length coat proving that "black don’t crack!" Can I get a amen? I'm just sayin.

STYLIN ON YOU: Kira from St. Louis, MO

Our Stylin On You Feature of the day is Kira from the Washington DC area who is in her words "currently revolutionizing" St Louis, MO. Kira has a bubbly personality accompanied with a fun and loving spirit that is evident in her unique sense of style. Not only is Kira revolutionizing in St. Louis, MO with her countless community involvements but she finds a way to look effortless chic! I adore the way she has incorporated mixed prints in her style as she has paired the pink & black striped blazer with the leopard heels (seen above).

When asked about her style she says, "A bit of a creative mixed bag, really. I have never been one to run out and grab the latest shoe, sweater or trending lip stick. My life is so dynamic that my shopping ritual is a medley of consignment, "thrifting", department store and boutique treasure hunts paired with the "make-it-happen-and-go!" attitude."

Kira's style is influence begins with products such as lipstick, eyeliner and bobby-pins! She described her inspiration came from "Ms Style and Grace, herself [Aww thanks Kira!] and my community, both geographically and culturally. I’ve lived in three different states but have traveled to 14 other countries. When it comes to absorbing creative expressions of the people and places around me, I am pretty impressionable." Are you loving Kira's style so far, I know I'am!

Style & Grace means so much to me for several reasons and it always intrigues me to find out what it means to others especially potential Stylin On You features. Kira says, "It’s really all about ownership. Self confidence, Sensuality, Pride and the multitude of attributes that are an extension of accepting, loving and owning who you are. You are the only thing that could prevent you from being GREAT. Own your gifts, your talents and your bright spirit and your style and grace will most graciously be your reflection." I couldn't have said it better.

Kira's STYLE, LIVE, DIE favorite quote for 2012: “Keep your Heels, Head and Standards HIGH”

Versace Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 (Video)

I absolutely HEART The Coveteur & Who What Wear for giving us an exclusive peek into the fashion office of Ms. Licht, the SVP of Global Communications for Donna Karan International. If you are a lover of true fashionable decor, you will love this post!

"She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Neurobiology & Physiology, switched gears into the world of editorial and landed as an accessories intern for Harper’s Bazaar (Shout Out to the DMV!). From there, she jumped mastheads, spent two years at Marie Claire, and then decided to try her hand at PR - joining Donna Karan International in 1998….and has stayed ever since. A girlie girl at the core, she rocks red frocks like no other (she calls it a ‘power color’), stocks her desk with nail polish in every shade of Debra Messing’s signature tone under the sun, and even accessories with a Moshi Moshi headset – CHIC!! Even in our digital age (she runs DKNY’s social media after all), she still knows the importance of a hand written note. “I keep a wall of thank you notes from various notables. I am a big stationary girl so I enjoy seeing what they choose to represent them - paper quality and font-wise” she states. “My favorite note is from Renée Zellweger, she actually just ripped out a page from her Filofax (remember those?!) and wrote right on there. After 14 years at Donna Karan it’s always nice to look back."
