BEST OF 2013: Outfits, Selfies & Favorite Moments of 2013!

SERIOUSLY, it's almost 2014! 2013 has been such a great year for as I've achieved a lot of things on my goal list and I've learned the importance of family, true friendship and unconditional love. I think I rediscovered my true passions and my greatest desires this year and have surrounded myself by the best people ever (grateful for each and every one of you). As my passion for fashion has been nurtured in 2013, I'm looking forward to rediscovering my style next year...I feel like my style has changed so much this year and I'm happy to finally be comfortable channeling my inner glam side and not feeling guilty about it. I love glam and I've learned to where my favorite shoes whenever I want and overdress just because LIFE IS TOO SHORT and my heels aren't. With all this said, I wanted to give you my best moments of 2013 before I show you my vision book additions.

 

Best Outfits of 2013

 

 

From Holiday parties to birthday dinners to homecomings and countless events in DC my heels have made it's way around town. I think the pointy toe heel reign was in full effect this year for me. My pointy heel of choice was usually from Jimmy Choo or Christian Louboutin, these two designers makes me feel uber sexy and of course taller! What a fabulous year of shoes...*le sigh*

 

I'll be the first to say that I stepped up my edgy looks this year by stepping out of the box and channeling my inner Rihanna, Diana Ross, Madonna, Beyoncé, etc. From day parties to concerts then to Sunday brunches with my friends I loved incorporating trendy pieces into my style. Getting dressed for an event or party is my favorite hobby. So I would have to say 2013 fostered my love for mixing my classic pieces with more trendier items, I love remixing my wardrobe.   

 

Best Selfies of 2013

 

 ...because sometimes you are your best photographer! I went through my new and old phone for pictures and discovered so many selfies (does that make me conceited?) that I laughed so hard and had to post them. Apparently I've taken many "test shots" and "outfit approval" pictures throughout this past year, it's official I have a selfie problem LOL. Seems like I love taking pictures in my car..  

...then occasionally a few friends or in some cases your parents get in your selfie! There is a story behind every picture and all I can do is SMILE from ear to ear, I love my family and friends so much. Can't wait to take more selfies next year, wait does that make me obsessed with myself? LOL

WHAT I WORE: New Friends 4th Annual Holiday Party

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas, I know I sure did! Spending time with my family is always a special treat especially since we have to new additions to the mix. Before Christmas my friends and I hosted our 4th Annual Holiday Party at the Topaz Hotel in Washington, DC on December 21st. The weather was absolutely perfect and I was super excited to see all my friends look so beautiful! The planning process for the holiday party was challenging at times but, I'm so glad it was a huge success and that a portion of our proceeds will go towards the UNICEF foundation here in Washington, DC.

Our theme this year was Black Opulence and I would like to say that everyone exuded this theme perfectly. Don't you just love getting dressed up? So many beautiful gowns and perfectly tailored suits/tuxedos that I was completely swooning the entire night. 

 

 

I was sooooo in love with my gown, it fit just perfectly! This was my first time getting a dress from Rent The Runway and it was such an amazing experience. I chose to keep my accessories to a minimum because I wanted my gown to be the main attraction..."less is more"

Pop singer and Fashion Killa, Rihanna has been tapped by Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing to be the face of Balmain's spring/summer 2014 campaign! The campaign embraces the 80s fashion era to the upmost and captures the Rihanna's edgy side. See a few pictures set be released in magazines in early 2014 below:

HAUTE FRIDAY THE 13TH: Beyonce Drops Visual Album!

 

Last night well actually SUPER early this morning, Beyoncé gave her fans the biggest surprise of our lives! To think "Scandal" had me all gittery, Beyoncé most certainly through me for a loop. YES, I stan...please deal with it and bow down. She released a visual album complete with 14 new songs, and 17 videos without a promotional stint in place. Hello, who is the BAWSE now? Seriously, I downloaded the album right away and was not disappointed...the music is fresh and the videos are captivating. My favorite songs/videos are "Mine", "Partition", "Yonce", "XO", "Blue", "Drunk in Love" along with the whole DAMN album. Forget the old rules, Beyoncé has new rules for her competition and I'm not mad. Be sure to download her latest album on iTunes ASAP. BACK TO BLOGGING....

Hello Young World!

I took an unexpected hiatus from blogging, social media and even the social scene but I feel like that put some things into perspective for me. Every now and then I've realized that it's okay to take a step back and just get some clarity. Before my hiatus, I did the Thanksgiving Trot for Hunger (we raised $600 for the homeless), attended a few social events and have also been planning a Holiday Party with my friends. As my life is always pretty much a marathon, I'm super glad that I took sometime to myself to just gain some perspective and relax before I get back out there and start running again. I'll be working on my vision board after Christmas, volunteering and getting ready for NYE. Anybody ready for 2014? I'am! Anyway, check out a few of the things I've been up to below:
