What is a Braid-less Sew In?
This hair weaving technique is definitely unique and similar to bonding. The foundation is created with a thread and needle technique, leaving some of your hair out. So you would have a track of weave and a part of your real hair to cover that track then another track of weave and so on. In return, you have flatter tracks and you can wear your hair in ponytails. The sew-in lasts 6-10 weeks and must be removed by the stylist.

For this service, most stylist also recommend that the extensions being used match the texture of your real hair so very high quality hair is best when doing this . Usually, 5-6 tracks will suffice for this.
Advantages:
You can part your hair in multiply ways and it LOOKS Natural!
Warning: When removing the tracks DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THEM ON YOUR OWN you will cut your hair!
Cost $400-$900*

Seeing the costs and how long it last, I will stick with my good ol sew in lol. Another downside (for me) is that my hair would have to be that texture of my weave. Ilike my wavy weave and I know my hair is far from wavy lol
ReplyDeleteI have this done before and paid $60 for it! Guess I was lucky!
ReplyDeletewhere ?
DeleteWHERE ??/
DeleteI wonder why it's so expensive, when it seems like a lot less work than a normal sew-in?
DeleteLOL at Kimesha! It does cost a pretty penny, hopefully with more research I can find other places that don't charge as much.
ReplyDeleteWOWZERS! $60 is a steal!
that shit looks painful and looks like its not healthy for your hair especially the way she is pulling on the the thread as she goes through the scalp..fuck that ill stick to my braids n sew ins my sew ins look flat with braids.
ReplyDeletehey, i had it done before years ago and i loved it!! It's not painful at all. It probably just looks like that because she is demonstrating on a dummy head. But I had it done like that years ago and havent gotten a regular sew in since then. It can be a little pricey, but it lasts and it's worth it!
Deleteumm that wasnt a dummy head that was an actual person lol
DeleteCan you really part it in different ways without the tracks showing , ? And how long would you say that it lasts , ???
DeleteI can't afford that. I better stick to my old school sew in......
Deletelololol^^^ yeees this looks painful >.<
ReplyDeleteApparently the $50 weave shop charges $30 per track so it shouldnt be that expensive
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it has a lot of pro's and cons... pro..it being flat...con...leaving your hair and constantly having to put it to it isnt healthy..and yes this looks painful!
ReplyDeleteI meant put heat to it*
ReplyDeleteif u get a keratine treatment and a fresh perm before doing this style you won't have to put heat to your hair... just wrap it at night brush/comb it down add a lil biosilk and boom ya done!
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to try this for a wedding and for a vacation I am going on after the wedding. I will price it.
ReplyDeleteThis Is Great Im Getting Mi Hair Did Like The One Above Thanks
ReplyDelete<3
Wondering.. does anyone know the straight hair that is being used in the picture?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it could pop your hair
ReplyDeleteby the time you take it out, your hair is going to be a tangled birds nest. I had this method done before, NEVER again.
ReplyDeleteReally , did it have any more cons
DeleteI did it don't recommend have a lot of pain can't sleep and I have sores in each pin point of my head where ever hair was added this sucks going back to remove ASAP what a waste of money =(!
ReplyDeleteOne of my teachers in beauty school showed us that technique a long time ago, its not new but it shouldnt be that close to the scalp and it shouldnt be pulled super tight to prevent breakage caused by excessive tension. If done right it should look great and last a while but dont try to take it our on your own or you'll be in some deep mess.
ReplyDeleteDont try to take it *out* on your own is what I meant..
DeleteCan it really be parted in many ways and how long should it last
Deleteyes
Deleteummm haha that was defiantly a dummy head watch the video.
DeleteI am trying to grow my hair natural n healthy. Right now it is an inch in the top and about 3/4 around the edges. I want to know what is best to start with as far as braids. No glue! It irritates my scalp.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine taking this out, it would be very hard to tell if the part your trying to cut out is thread or one's actual hair ?!
ReplyDeleteThe video is Not the way it's supposed to be done.I am a licensed Cosmetologist. You use beads as a platform that DO NOT break your hair off. Then you sew the hair onto the beads.
ReplyDeleteHey Cosmetologist; I have a question...and I am both a bartender and a Surgical Tech so if you could help me I would be glad to help u anytime you need info on a stiff drink or stitches I would be happy to return the tabor. I'm white girl with not just thin but also baby fine. I think the "sewing" part of that would wk on my hair. Its almost the stitch I was gonna use. I wont have the breakage issue but must do something. I have terminal cancer and although my particular chemo did not make me lose my hair. But it did thin just to stress! And feel free to Msg me on Fb...I'm th only Sundey Land. Thx Soo much.
Deletei had this technique done in my hair about 14 yrs ago this is not new and i paid 10 a track .u know when something becomes popular the price skyrockets
ReplyDeleteand also she just sewed the tracks on my hair not grabbing those little thin pieces of hair ...my hair was fine no breakage when it was taken down
ReplyDeleteHow long do this style last and what is the most current price that people are paying because I don't want to pay my money to someone to get this done and im out of money because it wont be a nice day for me or the stylist #ijs
