HALLOWEEN 2015: Pink Power Ranger Edition!

Call me Kimberly!!! I morphed into my favorite super hero from the 90s, PINK POWER RANGER and of course I gave her a 2015 upgrade with my fuchsia Jimmy Choo heels. I mean, why not?! Halloween was a complete marathon of events (which is the constant theme in my life lol) and it was surely a night to remember! Check out a few pictures from my night and the amazing costumes my friends and I had on. It's Morphin' time.....

My bestie Terrin was Poison Ivy! She rocked it...this was my first stop of the night. Live music and great food made for an amazing start to a great night :)

Poison Ivy, Pink Ranger, Fire Woman & Spider Woman :)

We still talkin' teams? Love these girls! #superHERoes

Then there was the burlesque show at SAX! Oh what a night...nothing but laughs lol.

TRIFECTA! #POWERtothepeople

Couldn't ask for a better crew full of super heroes! Ended our night at The Park lounge, it's sort of like tradition. Oh whaaaat a night!

Halloween was just a start to a great weekend, I also attended the Fashion With A Purpose fashion show Sunday so I'll be posting lots of pics/video from the show. I officially have the case of Mondays and it's back to business...talk to you guys later! xo-

RECAP: My Halloween Weekend!

SO, my worst fear came true on Saturday......My Wonder Woman Halloween costume never arrived so I had to RUN all over the city for costumes in the rain/snow! I discovered an Army Soldier outfit at Target and paired it with over-the-knee boots and black make-up! I joined my friends at Derrick & Giorgio's Halloween Party! SO MUCH FUN! Looking forward to seeing more pictures :)

Army Soldier x Pirate Kacey!

Vampire Derrick, My Beau as "Steve Urkel" from Family Matter, Waiter Julian & UPS Carrier Giorgio!

UPS Guy is soooooo CRAY!

With the loveeee of my life! We had fun playing up these costumes LOL

Toronto Carnival: A look at Caribana 2011 Costumes

This weekend most of my family and a few of my friends travelled all the way to Toronto, Canada for the 44th Annual Caribana Carnival. Some travelled by car while others travelled by plane to "jump in wave" with people all over the world. I skipped out on the festivities due to all my recent travels, so I'm excited to hear about their weekend. Approximately 18,000 dancers and musicians playing Mas on the Lakeshore. Take a look at the magnificent costumes from Caribana 2011 (Next year, I'm there):

Island Fever: Brazil's "Queen of the Drum" 2011 Carnival

via: Brazil Carnival
Former Rocinha Queen Fabia Borges, leading  the  Drums Section

SO, my cousin (I miss her!) is probably whining her reggae hips and soaking up the sun while she grooves to the beats of the drums in Trinidad & Tobago's Carnival. I got to thinking about other Carnival's happening all over the world, the first place that came to mind was Brazil! Its no denying that the women of Brazil are beyond BEAUTIFUL and they have one of the best carnival celebrations to date! I discovered the Queen of the Drum Carnival which is happening right now and saw some of the most stunning costumes (I bet they were a fortune)! Learn a little bit about the Brazilian culture below~

Carnival Drum Queens, Queen of the Drums, Queen of the Bateria, Drummers´ Muse, Percussions Muse, Drum Section Queen, or even Percussion Queens, are some names given by translators to the Brazilian Carnaval expression of Rainha de Bateria. Using the term “Carnaval Drum Queen” best represents, the real meaning of the Brazilian term. Carnival Drum Queens are essentially muses that parade in a highlighted fashion, in front of every Drum Section within a samba-school in Brazil´s Carnival.  Historians say the origin of this beauty figure, goes back to the fifties and sixties, but only after the mid-eighties, with Monique Evans at Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel, the post achieved the status it has today. Check out pictures below of Brazil's "Queen of the Drum" 2011 Carnival (LOVE LOVE LOVE)

Doesn't this make you want to move to Brazil?!
