NAIL FILES: OPI Pink Of Hearts 2012 Breast Cancer Collection

As the month of October is slowly approaching so is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! I'm super excited to give you the skinny on this duo pack designed to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support. In 2012, OPI will donate $25,000 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. OPI will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada. How amazing is that? You can fabulous and give back at the same time. Everyone has been affected by breast cancer whether through a family member or friend, so this is a great way to be fashionable and give back! The collection is appropriately called 'Pink of Hearts 2012' and features a You Glitter Be Good to Me and I think in Pink nail polish set.

NAIL FILE: OPI New York City Ballet SoftShades Collection

OPI recently announced the launch of six new additions to their SoftShades collection. Inspiration for the new additions came from one of the world's premiere dance companies, New York City Ballet (NYCB). The collection will be available for purchase April 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 a bottle. Our favorite Barbie, Nicki Minaj, has teamed up with OPI to release a line of nail polishes named after some of her songs. The six colors are inspired by Nicki’s larger-than-life personality and include Metal 4 Life a sparkly charcoal, the also glittery Pink Friday, the bright blue Fly and the very lime Did It On ‘Em.The polish set also includes the shatter polish which is aptly named Super Bass. See below!

The line will be out early next year. Are you Barbz excited?

Speaking of nail polish names, the Muppets lend themselves to some pretty hilarious ones: Meep-Meep-Meep, Warm & Fozzie, Wocka Wocka, Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It, and Rainbow Connection are just a handful of shades in the 12-color collection, which includes six glitter shades. The nail polish will retail for $8.50 a bottle and will hit salons and stores in November. YAY!

The Kardashians Kolors for OPI Nail Polish Collection

That's right....The Kardashian Sisters have done it again!

The Kardashian Kolors nail polish collection for OPI will be a hit this summer winter with the alluring 'kolors' sure to be an attention grabber. Sorry dolls that we have to wait so long but it's definitely worth it. The Nicole by OPI has just launched the line of 14 shades inspired by Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall, and Kris. SOOOO AMAZE!

The Kardashians Will Create Their Own OPI Nail Polish Collection

The Kardashians have struck another goldmine! On Twitter May 19, Kim Kardashian tweeted “Were shooting our ad campaign today 4 our new GLAM line of nail polish for Nicole by OPI.”

A rep for OPI also confirmed to FashionEtc that the Kardashian collection is happening and reveals that it will be released around the holidays.

For her part, Kim believes that she and her siblings have nailed it with their upcoming lacquer line, which will include colors inspired by their “glitz and glam” lifestyle.

“You guys are gonna faint when u see our new polish,” she promises.

Sneak Peek: Serena Williams 2nd OPI Nail Polish Collection!

The beautiful and talented Tennis player Serena Williams designed her 1st O.P.I. Nail Polish Collection entitled "The Glam Slam!" a few months ago and she's back again for her second collection! After a huge success she decided to really maximize her potential and add some more glam to O.P.I. (How sweet of her?). Serena is still recovering after an emergency operation for a hematoma—she it set to release four brand new shades for her O.P.I. Glam Slam! Collection, right before the French Open. The new lineup includes a silver hue named Spark de Triomph, a gold-flecked Rally Pretty Pink, as well as a Shatter shade in new white and red variations, which produce an edgy, cracked effect.

Serena says, “Whether I’m on or off the court, style is important....the White Shatter and Red Shatter lacquers allow me to add a high-fashion take to the elegant silver and sunset-colored polishes.” Serena’s new Glam Slam! lineup is $15 for two polishes (A Steal!), and lands in stores May 1st.

Beauty Alert! OPI: Black Shatter Nail Polish

Nail polish has gone to another level as OPI introduces it's newest color just in time for the new year! Black Shatter by OPI is an cheaper alternative to Minx and re-vamps black polish into a chic glam look. All you do is paint it on like regular nail polish, then after a few minute the polish cracks into a one-of-a-kind leopard-like design. The beauty department at Latina Magazine test this new phenomenon out and here are their tips to applying: 

1. After you file and clean your nails, paint on two coats of a regular nail polish. So far, we’re loving metallic shades (gold, silver, and light blue metallic) and neutrals (cream, nude, or pink).


2. Let the polish dry completely, then apply one thick coat (in as few swipes as you can) of Black Shatter. The polish cracks better with thick application.

3. If you don’t want a matte finish (which is what the black polish has), brush on a glossy clear top coat.

I don't usually wear dark polish, but I will be trying this new color out, just because of the dramatic effect it gives! Black Shatter will be available in January at various salons, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Ulta, Beauty First, Chatters, and Beauty Brands for under $10 ($8.50 to be exact).
