GIRLS NIGHT OUT AT THE MOVIES: "Think Like A Man Too" Advance Screening

Pre-Birthday Celebrations @ The Source: Myself (White Knitted tank from H&M/ White cross button skirt by ZARA/ Christian Louboutin "So Kate" bronze heels/) & D'Angela

Yesterday, I got the chance to kick it with my girls in the city. My first stop was to the popular restaurant The Source for my friend, D'angela's pre-birthday celebrations. It's currently in the mid-90s in the DMV so I was super eager to try the cocktails after walking a few blocks in my heels. I tried a very flavorful pear cocktail and some appetizers that were delicious, I forgot how great this place was! Anyway, after doing some mingling and enjoying the beautiful décor at The Source it was off to the advance screening of the movie "Think Like A Man Too" with a few of my girlfriends.

L-R: Kim, D'Angela, Myself & Terrin @ The Source

The Trio: Terrin, Myself & Denisha

TLAM2 Screening @ Mazza Galleria, Chevy Chase L-R: Kyra, Myself, Kim, Brittney & Denisha

Whoaaa what a funny movie, Think Like A Man Too is definitely a movie that you must see! It comes out in theaters this Friday, June 20th! I laughed the entire movie, who knew Kevin Hart was so funny? I'm not a "go to the movies every week" type of girl and wasn't a big Kevin Hart fan but he was HILARIOUS from start to finish. I loved the concept of the movie, it was light hearted and touched on a few issues in relationships that mirror real life situations (I won't tell you the movie...but it's a good movie to talk about afterawards with your girlfriends or significant other). It really looks like the cast had a fun time making this movie, the extra cameos from some of my celebrities didn't hurt either. If you need a good laugh or a girls night out this movie is definitely for you, it's a true romantic comedy. Most importantly, I'm so glad I got the chance to spend time with my girlfriends and laugh, that's all you need sometimes. They are my #WCW's this week...Happy Wednesday!!

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Rihanna at the CFDA Awards

Earlier this week my favorite Island girl, Rihanna grabbed the CFDA 2014 Fashion Icon Award looking every bit of glamorous. The Style Icon herself was a vision in this custom made Adam Selman gown, covered head-to-toe in Swarovski crystals (200,000) with a pink fur stole in tow. The "Bad girl" truly took a fashion risk and I gotta admit this is one of my favorite looks on her.

Rihanna paid a huge honor to Josephine Baker, who celebrated her birthday yesterday in this one of a kind dress. Are you obsessed with this look? I can't stop crushin' on her! Kudos to Rihanna for ALWAYS keeping us on our toes and giving people something to talk about. Gotta love her!

Read Rihanna's acceptance speech below:

"Growing up I didn't have a lot of access to fashion. But as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defense mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, "She can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit." [Laughter and cheers.] And to this day I mean, that is how I think about it. I can compensate for all my weaknesses with my fashion. And so really, you really can ... I enjoy the most that you can tell so much about who someone is just by their style — the way they put fashion together. And I think fashion has been an outlet for me to express myself, to speak up, to say who I am and to be very loud about it at times, and I just like to have fun with it. Fashion is just a world of thrills, it's exciting, there's no rules, there's just ... I mean, SHE has tons of rules [gestures at Anna Wintour, audience laughs] ... Scratch that! Scratch that! [More audience laughter.] There are RULES! But rules are meant to be broken. [Audience cheers and claps.]

I want to thank MAC for being so supportive and for keeping my face so cute. I want to thank all of the stylists who I've worked with because it's steps, it's stages to get here, and now I can't believe that we're here at the CFDA Awards. Mel Ottenberg, thank you! You GET ME. You honestly get me, and you understand what I'm trying to say. I can send you two pictures, and you bring back the rack full of exactly what I wanted. There's nothing better than that because fashion should never be frustrating. It should be fun! Make it easy to me. I want to thank everybody here tonight, my friends, my family for being supportive, thank you, guys! Good night." -

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Lupita Nyong'o Is PEOPLE's Most Beautiful

Not only have I been crushing on Oscar Winner/Style Icon/It Girl of 2014 since her debut in "12 Years of a Slave" but People Magazine has named her among the top 50 "Most Beautiful" People, what a honor! She's truly a beauty inside and out and her determination and perseverance has me crushing on her in more ways than one. Lupita Nyong'o said that her mother and manager "always said I was beautiful...And I finally believed her at some point." She also said that her best compliments were "when I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on," now that is a compliment that never gets old! Lupita is such a role model for women of color that have struggled to identify, I'm glad that little brown girls have someone to look up to and know that their "dreams are valid" and skin color never equates to beauty, it's the content of your character. Happy Woman Crush Wednesday Everyone, I can't wait to grab this issue of People Magazine!!!

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Lupita N'yongo for Essence Magazine, March 2014

Hollywood It Girl of the Year, Lupita N'yongo has been killing it lately, do you disagree? The fresh out of Yale graduate has been gracing covers of magazines and red carpets for a few weeks now and it looks like her reign is just beginning. From jaw dropping gowns to insanely toned body and riveting skin, Lupita has given young girls all over the world a face to identify with. Her skills and talents along with her impeccable fashion sense (kudos to her stylist) makes her our Woman Crush Wednesday! She recently shot with Essence Magazine for their Spring issue and dare I say she look FLAWLESS? What a beauty! She makes me want to go get a facial right now.

Excited about the Oscars this Sunday? Well I am, especially for the red carpet fashion which I suspect Lupita will knock us off our feet per usual, she's been mum about who she'll be wearing...

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Jennifer Lopez World Cup "We Are One" Video Shoot

I've been a Jennifer Lopez fan since "Selena" so she's my crush everyday (Duh!) but the Fab-Mommy of adorable twins rocked out in Florida yesterday and looked DAMN good doing it. The Singer/Actress/Style Icon and Business woman sure knows how to keep her body in shape, maybe it's the dancing? Either way she's definitely giving us Twenty Something girls a run for our money, lol. Check out a few behind-the-scene photos from her music video "We Are One" below:

I'm obsessed with her shoes!

J.LO was also in Miami filming her music video "Adrenalina" with Ricky Martin earlier in the week. When does she sleep? I really admire her work ethic, she's definitely a woman that I look up to!

WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri

The beautiful Miss New York also known as Nina Davuluri became the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss America. Nina is currently applying to medical school, and with the help of a $50,000 scholarship she won as part of the pageant title she will be pursuing her dreams. Miss America 2014 is my Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW) of the day because of her beauty and brains that all little girls of any race or color can relate to. She is truly an inspiration to all, Congrats Miss America!
