WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY: Rihanna at the CFDA Awards

 

Earlier this week my favorite Island girl, Rihanna grabbed the CFDA 2014 Fashion Icon Award looking every bit of glamorous. The Style Icon herself was a vision in this custom made Adam Selman gown, covered head-to-toe in Swarovski crystals (200,000) with a pink fur stole in tow. The "Bad girl" truly took a fashion risk and I gotta admit this is one of my favorite looks on her.

 

 

 

Rihanna paid a huge honor to Josephine Baker, who celebrated her birthday yesterday in this one of a kind dress. Are you obsessed with this look? I can't stop crushin' on her! Kudos to Rihanna for ALWAYS keeping us on our toes and giving people something to talk about. Gotta love her!

"Growing up I didn't have a lot of access to fashion. But as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defense mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, "She can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit." [Laughter and cheers.] And to this day I mean, that is how I think about it. I can compensate for all my weaknesses with my fashion. And so really, you really can ... I enjoy the most that you can tell so much about who someone is just by their style — the way they put fashion together. And I think fashion has been an outlet for me to express myself, to speak up, to say who I am and to be very loud about it at times, and I just like to have fun with it. Fashion is just a world of thrills, it's exciting, there's no rules, there's just ... I mean, SHE has tons of rules [gestures at Anna Wintour, audience laughs] ... Scratch that! Scratch that! Naya Rivera could do no wrong in my eyes, how amazing does she look in this black sheer/cut-out dress. I'm loving the blonde locks on her too!  

Laura Govan is proving that she is a Fab-Mommy & Style Icon in the making, I love the "white on white" look. I need this jumpsuit in my life...pronto! 

Dwayne Wade and his beautiful Fiancée, Gabrielle Union were perfection as they celebrated their engagement over the weekend. I'm in love with Gabby's skirt.   

 

Rocsi Diaz has been growing on me lately, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Kudos to her stylist, she looks great in this dress....I'm searching for something similar for an upcoming celebration.

 

Leah Michelle knows how to SLAY on the low, how amazing is this lace dress?! I'm swooning!

 

 

Princess Kate looks like royalty in her coat, bushy brooch and hat to match.

 

Leave it to Adriana Lima to get uber fabulous on the red carpet in this one shoulder pink gown. Flawless!

FLAWLESS: Jennifer Lopez Goes Pink!

 

My Style Icon, Jennifer Lopez gave me so much inspiration in her matching pink top and jeans yesterday that I can't wait to try this look. The high-pony tail and nude pumps is perfect for such a vibrant look. It still amazes me how J.Lo can keep us guessing with her stylish looks week after week, this Fab-Mommy is looking great these days as she hosts TV's hit show American Idol.

STYLE CRUSHIN': Zendaya Coleman

 

17 year-old Actress/Singer, Zendaya Coleman is making a mark in the style department. The Style Icon on the rise has been gracing red carpets and as of recent sitting front row at New York Fashion Week with some style icons. I noticed Zendaya's style over the summer and instantly fell in love with her effortlessly chic style and slender frame (I'm crushin' if you haven't got the memo). Everything about her style says fabulous, chic, timeless and fun...fashion is all about taking risks and owning your look so I'm very happy to see a teenager owning her look and making a footprint in the style sand of the life. I have to admit that I've been slacking on posting but no worries I found my mojo and I'm back like I never left. In other news, I've falling madly in love with famed actress, Naomie Harris' style. I MISS SCANDAL: Favorite Outfits Worn by Olivia Pope (Season 2)

Anyone other than me going through Scandal withdraws? My Thursday nights just aren't the same anymore and I'm totally anticipating the next episode (scheduled to air March 21st). I absolutely love Kerry Washington's style and a little obsessed with her character Olivia Pope's "Washingtonian Style" as well. Olivia seems to embody style, poise, class and of course minimalism in her looks through out the season which totally mirrors Washington, D.C. work uniform.
