Join The Twitter Movement: #LupitaForMAC

After catching up on my favorite fashion blog, The Fashion Bomb Daily I spotted a movement that I wouldn't mind joining especially since I'm a huge fan of this woman. Lupita Nyong'o  has become an overnight sensation for her amazing role in 12 Years of A Slave and has become quite the Stylista in the past few months. She has also become a role model for many young women that chasing their dreams (I'm one of them) and has inspired so many to be comfortable in their own skin. So what is this movement that I want you to join with me? On Twitter let's convince MAC cosmetics to sign up the Oscar Award-winner to be their new spokesmodel. If Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna could be spokesmodels for MAC beauty cosmetics then why can't Lupita Nyong'o have a shot. I'm a believer in banding together to see another woman of color showcase another form of beauty that many girls aspire to see. Would she be the perfect MAC girl?! The hashtag (#LupitaForMAC) started with journalist Joan Morgan and Dr. Yaba Blay and continues to be used on social media as of now. So I encourage you to join the #LupitaForMAC movement, use the hashtag and be sure to include a picture of Lupita as well. I hope this works! *crosses fingers* 

BEAUTY NEWS: Rihanna for MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam, January 2014

 

Hellllo MAC Lovers! It's been a little while since I've dropped some beauty news, but no worries I'm back to blogging in full bloom. With a string of successful collections for MAC it was only right that the cosmetics brand tapped Bad Gal, Rihanna to be the spokesperson of their Viva Glam campaign. The sale of products will benefit the MAC AIDS FUND to fight for HIV/AIDS. Check out the exclusive picture of the Viva Glam lipstick & lipglass below.   

 

The Viva Glam collection is said to be arriving early 2014, January to be exact so be sure to stay tuned to more information that will be released soon!! Stay beautiful people :)

BEAUTY FILES: RiRiheartMAC (Fall 2013 Collection)

 

Rihanna is showing no signs of slowing down these days, from going back on tour to launching another clothing collection with River Island she is also doing another collaboration with  MAC Cosmetics. Rihanna's Fall collection with MAC is appropriately titled "RiRiheartMAC" and is set to launch October 3rd online only. The collection is said to feature her signature RiRi Woo color lip glosses and matte lipsticks, bronzer, eyeshadow palette, eyelashes and mascara. You can expect to drop $16.50 to $44 for the collection. After releasing the official ad picture on instagram, I did some hunting and found some exclusive photos from the collection below:

MAC ALERT: Rihanna's "RiRi Hearts Summer" Collection (June 20th)

 

The baddest superstar, Rihanna also known as 'Ri Ri Woo' is definitely making her mark in the beauty industry as she is set to release her second MAC collaboration. After the Brooklyn debut of the RiRi Woo lipstick last month, and selling out in 2 hours it's only right that she's back with more!

Here is the full collection that you've been waiting for, set to launch on June 18th (save-the-date and set your clocks). The RiRi Woo, Heaux and RiRi Boy lipsticks are accompanied with the Hibiscus Kiss blusher and the Barbados Girl Lustre Drops highlighter. How great is this collection?! Me likey alot. Rihanna is also expected to drop a Fall makeup collection with MAC to include false eyelashes, lipsticks, nail polishes and other beauty necessities. Oh na na....What's her name! Go Ri Ri!

MAKE-UP MONDAY: RiRi for MAC

 

Last week, I got wind of such a BEAUTY-ful collaboration that I knew I had to share with you after my birthday hiatus was over (lol). Rihanna celebrated her birthday in Hawaii with family and friends while also letting her stans know via instagram that she would have her very own line of MAC cosmetics. According to the MAC cosmetics agreement the new line would help her creative juices. We here that there will be multiple collections of color cosmetics set to be released this year.

 

The first product to launch will be RiRi Woo, a lipstick inspired by her favorite MAC red, Ruby Woo. With Rihanna’s Diamonds Tour concert set to start pretty soon the new collection will be available on May 4 and 5 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where there will also be MAC pop-up shop on the first night. Are you excited?! I'm attending her concert in DC in April so I won't be in NY to see the pop-up shop but I'll be at my nearest MAC counter to get my RiRi Woo!

 

 

“When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind — for something legit — is MAC,” said Rihanna in a exclusive interview with WWD. “Whatever color you want, it’s like ‘Let’s go to MAC.’ I’ve been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand.”

BEAUTY NEWS: MAC Cosmetics Opens Store in Nigeria

How awesome is this?! MAC Cosmetics has expanded their brand into Africa! They have opened a store in Lagos, Nigeria and two more are expected to open in Zambia and Botswana. According to  Global Brand President for MAC Cosmetics, Karen Buglisi says "We believe that the breadth of our product line, particularly in foundation shades, and our pricing will appeal to the Nigerian market, as well other African markets." I'm a lover of all things beautiful so I'm totally happy that the beautiful women in Africa can glam it up with MAC Cosmetics just like us Americans :)

It's been awhile since I've done a beauty post so you KNOW I had to let you know about MAC's latest collection that is totally stealing my heart right now. I'm completely obsessed with warm colors and this collection is nothing short of amazing, plus the bright orange knitted sweater/hoodie is to die for! MAC launched the Après Chic limited edition collection right after Christmas, so it's now available until February 6, 2013 (so that means you have less than two weeks to get your hands on these beauties)! This gorgeous look starts with luminous M·A·C Mineralize Skinfinish and Mineralize Blush applied with the 187 Duo Fibre Face Brush. Nicki Minaj Goes Solo for MAC Viva Glam Campaign

 

Is Lavender the new Pink? According to the Barbie, Nicki Minaj this is rumor is TRUE! The Rapper/Perfumista/American Idol Judge tweeted to her Barbz, “Ready for my new VIVA GLAM lipstick? I’m going solo as MAC’s VIVA GLAM girl beginning February 2013!!! #LavenderIsTheNewPink” This is the first campaign that Nicki is flying solo for MAC Viva Glam and I must say that I'm loving the lavender lipstick already. All proceeds will go toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The limited edition will be available February 9, 2013 through August 2013. I can't wait for February :)  

 

M.A.C Set to Launch 65 New Shades of Nail Polish

Nail Polish Addicts this post is dedicated to you! Starting next week, July 1st to be exact M.A.C is putting out 30 here-to-stay shades that range from pearl, cream, and frost finishes. All of these amazing shades of nail polish will be available for $16 each at M.A.C stores and Nordstrom counters. SNEAK PEEK: MAC Cosmetics 'Press-On' Nails Collection!

MAC Cosmetics is set to release their very first "Press On" Nail Collection next month (June)! Yesterday, StyledDotCom tweeted a picture of the nail set and of course the "people"...well me, went crazzzzy. I'm excited to see more of this collection and will be sure to share it with you as soon as I get more information regarding pricing, etc. but in the meantime between time swoon over this nail fab!
