SUMMER STYLE SERIES: Denim In The City ||

This is a very bitter sweet post because it is the last post from my Summer Style Series but you know I had to save the best for the last. So here is my Denim In The City look that I absolutely love and adore. I always say that the 70s have a special place in my heart so you know I have a few bell bottom/wide-leg denim jeans in my closet so I pulled out my ol' faithful and paired it with one of my favorite denim shirt. Denim is such a huge staple in my life and it's been a trend staple for many seasons, I'm happy to see that it will continue into Fall/Winter. Denim goes with EVERYTHING, I truly mean that and I love how men/women wear it. Denim can be worn in so many ways, I just gave it more of a 70s flare because it's a popular trend you'll see in the Fall and look you can see me wearing. I can't believe Fall begins next week and Summer is over :( With every ending there is a new beginning, so I'm very excited for Fall...especially since I'll be doing a bit of traveling very soon. Anyway, check out a few photos from my last SUMMER STYLE SERIES 2015.

I hope everyone enjoyed Summer 2015 (it's been one for the books), I'm looking forward to Fall 2015 that's for sure. Per usual my to-do list is a mile long so I'll be back to blogging very soon....but in the mean time between time enjoy the last few days of Summer, I know I will :)

This dress was so comfortable and easy to wear, you can pair this with high-heel sandals or even flats. My favorite part about this look was the hidden pockets and side cut-outs, so on trend and practical. The color is just beautiful don't you think? Still crushing on this little maxi...

WHAT I WORE: Fig & Olive Grand Opening Party

WHAT I WORE: Dress by BEBE (old)/ Oversized clutch by ASOS/ Metallic Sandals by Miss Guided (sold out)/

Last night I attended the Fig & Olive private grand opening party in City Center. I'm a huge fan of this new restaurant coming to my area, when I was in LA a few years ago I went with one of my girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Seems like DC is getting all the cool restaurants these days and I couldn't be happier to be in the mix. I decided to bring out this dress I found in my closet a few weeks ago (I'm always finding hidden jewels in my closet lol..) and I knew it would be perfect for the occasion. Kept it pretty minimal with the accessories except for my oversized clutch, the pop of color worked well with my metallic sandals and dress. Like?

My lovely date for the night! Love this girl xo

SQUAD!

Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful food, beautiful people and most importantly champs were flowing! So great to see a lot of my friends all at once, it rarely happens so I definitely appreciate nights like this. If you live in the area, you must try Fig & Olive amongst all the great restaurants located in City Center...you won't be disappointed!

WHAT I WORE: Street Wear

Happy Tuesday!! My weekend was just what I needed, lots of rest and spending time with friends I haven't seen in a very long time. I'm anticipating a very action packed MLK weekend (birthday brunch, birthday dinner, house warming & sleepover) so I'm pacing myself lol. Anyway, while I had a brief stint in the city on Saturday afternoon I ran into this beautiful art work in Eastern Market.

I was truly obsessed with it and it was only right to snap a pick before jetting off to lunch. It's been so cold in the DMV that I've been wearing my fabulous faux fur headband everywhere. I got it from TopShop last week and has been my go-to when it comes to staying warm. And I'm still not over my timberlands, they are super comfy! OMG I may need to get another pair lol...

WHAT I WORE: Dinner Wangin'

Over the weekend I got together with my bestfriend for a cute night out (we needed to have a major catch up session). I've been so obsessed with black lately especially my hair, (there's something about black that is so classic). I promise to give you guys more color soon lol! Anyway, it's a little burr in DC so I decided to finally wear my Scuba sweatshirt from the Alexander Wang x H&M collection and I paired it with my leather sweatpants from Sorrella Boutque. I wanted to be comfortable for dinner and of course I had to jazz it up with my So Kate pumps. I found my scuba top to be very insulated and fit like a corset around the waist (Hello, my waist was on FLEEK lol). I really appreciated the quality of the Alexander Wang x H&M collection, I'll be wearing this again for sure! After a delicious Hibachi dinner we headed to our favorite hookah lounge to keep the night going, needless to say we had a good time. Aren't nights with your Bestfriend the best times?? I hope everyone had a great weekend!

WHAT I WORE: Tuxedo Chic

WHAT I WORE: Altuzarra x Target Tuxedo dress/ Vintage gold clutch/ Black "So Kate" Christian Louboutin heels/

Last Friday I decided to hang out with one of my closest girlfriends, we both needed a night out after a pretty long week. I was super excited to finally wear my Altuzarra x Target tuxedo dress before it got too cold. I got it almost a month ago and once I tried it on I knew it would be the perfect addition to my closet. The dress is perfection in every sense of the word, I'm super obsessed with the split especially since it made me want to pose in every picture like J.Lo lol! The gold design along the shoulders was just the added color I needed and my "So Kate" heels were right on time. Did you guys snag anything from the Altuzarra x Target collection? I'm now looking forward to getting a sweatshirt and sports bra from the Alexander Wang x H&M collection next week. Happy Tuesday Guys!!

WHAT I WORE: 3 Looks 1 LONG Weekend!

Helloooo Young World! I'm finally getting the time to update my blog and bring you guys up to speed on my life. My 4-day weekend turned into being the longest weekend ever, hence why I am just blogging about my weekend. Of course it was 4th of July weekend so I knew that I would be running all over the place but, I was even more excited about the Jay Z and Beyoncé concert (which was AMAZE-BALLS). I had a few interesting looks over the weekend, and I got a lot of inquiries on where I snagged some of my fits as well as my inspiration so I'm here to answer all the questions!

Anyway, my weekend began on Thursday at the pool followed by watching Orange Is New Black (I'm completely obsessed...thanks to my connect!) then it was finally the 4th of July on Friday. I kicked off my holiday weekend by going to a champagne brunch at this swanky apartment building followed by a few cookouts and of course fireworks to check off my Summer Bucket List. Since it wasn't super hot outside and I knew that I wanted be comfortable so I decided to go with a denim jumpsuit and some strappy sandals. I also wanted to embrace my new found vintage frames that magically appeared in my life a few days ago. Of course red, white and blue was on my mind so I tried to incorporate that into my look as well with a signature red lip (MAC baby!).

WHAT I WORE: Denim jumpsuit (similar found here)/ Phillip Lim for Target mini-bag/ White & Silver sandals by ZARA/ Vintage Dolce & Gabbana for MADONNA (old but similar found here)/

My 4th of July was cut short due to my pounding headache so I decided to go home and get some rest as I knew my Saturday would be pretty busy. By Saturday morning I felt 100% better and finally found my outfit for the concert. In celebration of summer and just the beautiful weather I got the chance to sip a few cocktails at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown while catching up with my girlfriend (just what the doctor ordered).

I guess you can say I was still in the spirit of 4th of July by the starry sheer blouse I had on, ideally I wanted wear something loose fitting and transitional since I attended a cookout earlier and had plans on going out for a night out on a town. The weather is still tricky so I'm glad I had this long-sleeve blouse because it was a bit chilly by the time I headed into the city.

WHAT I WORE: Sheer gold & white blouse by H&M/ White quilted shorts (old) by TOPSHOP/ 'Lance' strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo/
After a fancy night out on Saturday, I used my Sunday to run a few errands and go to brunch before getting some rest for the BIG day better known as "#ONTHERUN". After doing a few changes to my initial outfit, I decided to embrace the Coachella/Rocker Chic side of me (I'm part Beyoncé too lol..) by taking a few fashion risks and to my surprise my outfit worked out perfectly for the venue. The concert was held at the M&T Bank stadium and I knew I would be doing a bit of walking and these ankle booties were perfectttt, although I was a little hesitant about my shoe choice (I mean who opts to wear booties in the summer? lol) it worked with my overall look and I'm happy.

WHAT I WORE: Black fedora hat (old) by F21/ Green embellished bralette by TOPSHOP/ Black high-waist shorts (old) by UO/ Chained purse (old)/ suede and leather ankle booties by Ann Taylor/
Now that I've caught you guys up on my life, it's back to grinding it out and prepping for another weekend (hopefully spent by the pool). Wishing everyone a great day and weekend, I'll be back to blogging about fashion, style, and so much more next week!! xoxoxo

WHAT I WORE: The Big Kiss To Summer

Happy Summer Everyone! Last Saturday kicked off the official day of Summer in my bed for most of the day (Friday night wore me out lol) then to my little cousin's grad cookout before I ventured into the city for some quality time. I kept it pretty comfortable and chic as I knew I would end up going to a lounge or walking a few blocks. The weather was so beautiful Saturday night that I made my way to a rooftop on U Street, it was the perfect way to bring in Summer 2014.

WHAT I WORE: "Kiss me in French" crop top by UO/ Bandage skirt from Nordstom/ Pointy toe Saint Laurent Pumps/ Studded clutch by F21 (old)/
