COVER GIRL: Nia Long for Essence Magazine, April 2014

Does Nia Long just keep getting younger and younger, or is it just me? The 40 something and Fabulous Actress and Mother graces the cover of Essence Magazine looking all but of beautiful in a polka-dot jumper and skin that is perfection! Nia Long will be starring in an upcoming Tyler Perry movie entitled, "Single Moms Club" so she discusses this with the magazine, as well as how she maintains her sexy physique in the April 2014 issue. What a stunner, I can't wait to read this (I'm still trying to read my Vogue with Rihanna right now). Kudos to Nia Long, she constantly serves!

HOTTIE OF THE HUMP DAY: Serena Williams is Swimsuit Ready for Essence Magazine

It's been awhile since we've had a 'Hottie of the Hump Day' and I'm super excited to bring it back just in time for Summer!! Serena Williams the Tennis Maven, covers Essence Magazine July 2013 issue wearing ombre swimsuit by Carmen Marc-Valvo. How fabulous does she look? As we are all preparing for Summer..it's so important to wear clothes that accentuate your best assets, and Serena is definitely accentuating hers. Congrats to the Tennis star as she won the french open recently! She is truly an inspiration to all women pursuing their dreams, especially me. #BLACKGIRLSROCK

GIRL TALK: 10 Smart Financial Tips for Your 20s & 30s

THROWBACK: My favorite people who I adore. "Save and spend time for the right people"
Helllo My Fearless Twenty Somethings!

Lately, I've been on a "savings mission" and I mean that with all my heart. Saving my coins for worthwhile meals, trips, etc and even my time for the right people & the right occasions. It's so important to save in all areas of your life even if that means saving a bit time for the people who mean the most to you (I'm learning this everyday). Saving is such an important habit that we often let fall to the waist side of our life After reading the August 2012 Essence Magazine, I've grown a new found obsession with getting my financial life in order! I came across an article entitled, "10 Smart Financial Tips for Your 20s & 30s" by Tanisha A. Sykes that I've been telling most of my girlfriends about. I've discovered a new interest in saving that could make a HUGE difference in your life. Being twenty-something has giving me alot to think about, especially when it comes to where I choose to invest my coins as well as if I should really buy those Jimmy Choo's (lol!). I'm a Shop-A-Holic...this I know, but my point of all of this is to tell you that their are ways that you can be fabulous on a budget, yes a budget and have a great life financially! All I'm saying is spend wisely...and invest well. Below are the "10 Smart Financial Tips for Your 20s & 30s":

1. LIVE WITH YOUR MAMA LONGER.
2. CREATE A SPENDING PLAN.
3. PAY OFF YOUR FIRST CAR.
4. BUILD AN EMERGENCY FUND.
5. LOOK FABULOUS ON A BUDGET.
6. ESTABLISH A1 CREDIT.
7. SAVE FOR A DOWN PAYMENT ON YOUR FIRST HOME.
8. START SERIOUSLY INVESTING.
9. CREATE MULTIPLE INCOME STREAMS.
10. GIVE BACK TO CHARITY

Pick up the latest Essence Magazine (Nia Long looks gorgeous on the cover!) to get all the details on how these financial tips can work for you or you can read Tanisha's weekly column n on essence.com and tweet her @tanishastips.....Happy Saving :)

Essence Celebrates its 40th Anniversary

Essence magazine's September issue celebrates their 40 year Anniversary *loud cheers and bottle popping*. What better way to celebrate the years then to feature 40 Fierce and Fabulous Women who are changing the World!!! This accomplishment alone shows just how far black women have advanced. The cover itself speaks of beauty as it dawns Supermodels Iman, Naomi Campbell and Liya Kebede. As I tore through the pages I couldn't help smiling and gazing at all the beautiful women and the impact they have made in the world. From teachers, athletes, singers, comedians, CEO's to being America's First Lady, black women have shown just how far you can go with a dream, determination and hard work. Not only did this spread brighten my spirits, but it gave me hope, inspiration and motivation to go out and do my part in changing this world. I would suggest that EVERY woman pick up a copy of this collectors item and dare to go out and make your mark in this world!! These 40 women prove that ANYTHING & EVERYTHING is possible. Here are a few pics of some of the women they cover:

Maya Angelou

Michelle Obama

Oprah Winfrey

Chanel Iman

Beyonce

Queen Latifah
