EVENT RECAP: Pink Tie Fundraiser Party-Cherry Blossom Kick Off!

Wow, what an incredible Thursday night!! First and foremost, Happy Spring everyone it's super beautiful in DC right now and I couldn't be happier. Last night I got the chance to dance my life away, meet some really amazing people, and play some fun games...it was very refreshing. After being invited by my friends at Jimmy Choo, I knew I had to find the perfect dress to match the "Pink Tie" Cherry Blossom Kick Off theme and as usual my last minute shopping brigade worked like a charm. The Pink Tie Fundraiser was held in the beautiful Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center from 7-11pm and it was lit to pink perfection!

Guests had the opportunity to enjoy high-end fashion displays, games of chance, a silent auction, and delicious food and beverages (The 'Pink champagne' Lady was my favorite part of the night). In addition, there was mini-golfing, ring tossing, balloon darts, and the BUBBLES Penny Pitch bar to win prizes which kept people engaged and having fun. Since I'm a music lover, I have to say I really enjoyed the band and DJ for the evening...everyone was on the dance floor and the variety of music was absolutely perfect! See a few pictures from my very pink night out in honor of raising money for the Cherry Blossom Festival kicking off this weekend below:

Flavored popcorn! I couldn't get enough of it...

I loved the necklace on this model (not the best picture), of course it's BVLGARI and I can't afford it but it was so nice to swoon over. Most of the models wore Jimmy Choo shoes through out the evening. The Collection at Chevy Chase, Maryland is amazing be sure to check it out!

Pink Champagne + Pink Popcorn made me very happy!

Getting ready to try my hand at mini-golfing in my Jimmy Choo's..."I can't concentrate in flats"

....And just like that I'm obsessed! I have a new hobby guys! lol

Drinks were flowing at the open bar and was fully stocked with all my favorites of course!

Seriously, I'm obsessed with this Pink Champagne Lady, who thought of this? Ummm, GENUIUS!

WHAT I WORE: 'Neoprene' Printed Dress by ZARA/ Blue suede Jimmy Choo Anouk Heels/ My own jewels

Lighting was a bit crazy and my iphone5 can only do but so much so here's my full Cherry Blossom inspired dress that I wore. Not bad for a last minute find? I was pleased with how it fit and it seems like everyone loved it as well :) PS-How beautiful was the décor? It was like a pink palace!

Well hello floral hat....Spring is in the air!!

Mini-desserts also had me losing my focus! *does crunches*

Tamara and I dancing on the dance floor! What a night...

Happy Friday everyone!! I'm so excited for this weekend because the Cherry Blossom Festival starts so that means back to running around the tidal basin Saturday mornings with my bestie and lots of outdoor activities. This week flew by and I couldn't be happier, totally ready for some relaxation.

Happy Wednesday!

Almost time for the cherry blossoms to bloom and I'm super excited! Tomorrow I'm attending the Pink Tie Fundraiser to kick off the Cherry Blossom Festival and I have nothing to wear *le sigh*...I'll be sure to do a recap of the event. Warm weather keeps me on my toes and motivated, Are you ready for Spring? If you live in the DMV area be sure to check out the Cherry Blossoms downtown this weekend it's truly a memorable experience, don't miss it. Nature is full of beauty!

SHOEGASM: Valentino "RockStud" T-Strap Pumps

My obsession with Valentino 'Rockstud' T-Strap Pumps is crazy right now! I've been prowling for Graduation shoes, I figure if I find a shoe then I'll find the dress. Crazy philosophy but it works for me, over the past year I've been lusting after a timeless shoe that is edgy and classic at the same time and I discovered the Valentino 'Rockstud' T-Strap Pump that makes me feel all tingly inside.

The pumps comes in plenty of colors (neon green, nude, pink, red, black, blue and white) and will be the perfect addition to my Spring wardrobe, don't you think? The T-Strap pump is a perfect trend to embrace this season so why not break them out at my graduation.

I love my Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Saint Laurent shoes but I think I'm ready for my first pair of Valentino heels. They just seem so grown up and sexy at the same time, who would not want that? The classic T-Strap has me swooning and I think these could go perfectly with boyfriend jeans and a tank or even a cocktail dress. Did I convince you that these are a winner?!

I still have time to decide but I'm definitely leaning towards these babies, for $945 I have some deciding to do! What do you think? Graduation shoes or no?!

CHIC OF THE WEEK: Naya Rivera, Laura Govan, Princess Kate & MORE!

Naya Rivera could do no wrong in my eyes, how amazing does she look in this black sheer/cut-out dress. I'm loving the blonde locks on her too!

Laura Govan is proving that she is a Fab-Mommy & Style Icon in the making, I love the "white on white" look. I need this jumpsuit in my life...pronto!

Dwayne Wade and his beautiful Fiancée, Gabrielle Union were perfection as they celebrated their engagement over the weekend. I'm in love with Gabby's skirt.

Rocsi Diaz has been growing on me lately, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Kudos to her stylist, she looks great in this dress....I'm searching for something similar for an upcoming celebration.

Leah Michelle knows how to SLAY on the low, how amazing is this lace dress?! I'm swooning!

Princess Kate looks like royalty in her coat, bushy brooch and hat to match.

Leave it to Adriana Lima to get uber fabulous on the red carpet in this one shoulder pink gown. Flawless!

Beyoncé let the world know that she doesn't "Pop Molly...She rocks" at her latest concert. Werk!

FLAWLESS: Jennifer Lopez Goes Pink!

My Style Icon, Jennifer Lopez gave me so much inspiration in her matching pink top and jeans yesterday that I can't wait to try this look. The high-pony tail and nude pumps is perfect for such a vibrant look. It still amazes me how J.Lo can keep us guessing with her stylish looks week after week, this Fab-Mommy is looking great these days as she hosts TV's hit show American Idol.

Yep, she still has it....

The Kardashians Take Miami: DASH Store Opening Party

The Kardashians, Kim and Khloe (Oh yeah..and super cute little sister Kylie Jenner) made a very fashionable mark in Miami, FL yesterday as paparazzi swarmed them on Collins Avenue. Am I the only one in total swoonville at the Kim, Khloe and Kylie's outfits?! I'm obsessed, they look great. Check out a few pictures of the DASH Dolls before and at their Dash Opening Party.

Kim looked AMAZING (what a great view right? lol) in a Kardashian Kollection cropped turtleneck, Vintage Alaia dress and her signature Alaia heels. I love the layered look and the neutral colors is definitely a trend that I love on her.

Khloe looked just as amaze in her neutral one piece and heels to match.

Meanwhile on the beach, Kourtney and Scott spent some couple time together. Can we talk about Scott's loafers for a moment? #LordDisick

Kim stole the spotlight in this matching cropped silver metal top and skirt at the official DASH Opening Party annnnd of course she nailed it! The shoes also gave her outfit a nice touch as well, are you a fan? She had my favorite look of the night. The DASH Store has moved to Collins Ave in case you were wondering....I can't wait to visit the new location (Missing Miami something serious!).

The gang reunited on the carpet right before entering their party, the Kardashian gals does it again! Can't knock their hustle, Kongrats to the DASH Dolls!

SHE LOOKS DAMN GOOD, AIN'T LOST IT: Iman for Scene Magazine

Seriously, at 58 years old I hope to look as good as Iman looks! The Supermodel/Business Woman is showing the world she still has her model swag as she delivers straight fierceness in the latest issue of Scene Magazine. I'm totally in love with her hair, isn't it amaze? I'm literally in swoonville right now!

WHAT I WORE: A 'Starry' Night

Happy Tuesday Beautiful People!
WHAT I WORE: Silk Star Blouse by H&M/ Coated Trousers by ZARA/ 'So Kate' bronze Christian Louboutin heels/ Hoop Earrings from Belle Noel

The weekend went by so fast, I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep...thank God this week won't be as long as last week. With Spring on it's way I decided to take a walk downtown during my lunch break and I checked out the H&M Spring collection (which I LOVE) and instantly fell in love with this blouse. It was perfect for a Friday night out on the town and since I'm a lover of anything see-through this was perfect. I'm working on wearing more lighter colors this Spring/Summer instead of black. I want to embrace the neutrals and pastels more and since the weather is warming up there is no better time to start than now. In other news, I'm super excited that I have finally registered for my commencement ceremony that will be held this Spring (to think I didn't care about walking at all a few months ago). I think I'm more excited about what I'll be wearing lol, this time will be a lot different than my May 2008 graduation from Elon. For my undergrad graduation ceremony it was outside so I opted for a very simple sundress and sandals (I was in the country so when in Rome..) but this time around I really want to embrace this Master's degree with Style & Grace. The commencement will be held in a air conditioned stadium (Thank You Baby Jesus!) with a business attire requirement so I'm prowling for a dress that will be a hit for the commencement ceremony as well as the luncheon my family and I will be planning. Of course I'll be sharing my "journey of a dress" as well as start my hunt for the perfect shoes very soon, but finding the dress is FIRST! I've got a million and one things going on right now (good things) so I thought I'd share the most important moment that is coming up for me so please excuse my rambling I'm just excited for Spring for more than one reason lol....Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week, Happy Tuesday!! xo

COVER GIRL: Nia Long for Essence Magazine, April 2014

Does Nia Long just keep getting younger and younger, or is it just me? The 40 something and Fabulous Actress and Mother graces the cover of Essence Magazine looking all but of beautiful in a polka-dot jumper and skin that is perfection! Nia Long will be starring in an upcoming Tyler Perry movie entitled, "Single Moms Club" so she discusses this with the magazine, as well as how she maintains her sexy physique in the April 2014 issue. What a stunner, I can't wait to read this (I'm still trying to read my Vogue with Rihanna right now). Kudos to Nia Long, she constantly serves!

Join The Twitter Movement: #LupitaForMAC

After catching up on my favorite fashion blog, The Fashion Bomb Daily I spotted a movement that I wouldn't mind joining especially since I'm a huge fan of this woman. Lupita Nyong'o  has become an overnight sensation for her amazing role in 12 Years of A Slave and has become quite the Stylista in the past few months. She has also become a role model for many young women that chasing their dreams (I'm one of them) and has inspired so many to be comfortable in their own skin. So what is this movement that I want you to join with me? On Twitter let's convince MAC cosmetics to sign up the Oscar Award-winner to be their new spokesmodel. If Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna could be spokesmodels for MAC beauty cosmetics then why can't Lupita Nyong'o have a shot. I'm a believer in banding together to see another woman of color showcase another form of beauty that many girls aspire to see. Would she be the perfect MAC girl?! The hashtag (#LupitaForMAC) started with journalist Joan Morgan and Dr. Yaba Blay and continues to be used on social media as of now. So I encourage you to join the #LupitaForMAC movement, use the hashtag and be sure to include a picture of Lupita as well. I hope this works! *crosses fingers*

Happy Friday: ALMOST Time to Spring Forward!

I'm hoping this 'Coldest Winter Ever' stint happening in DC is coming to an end, I miss wearing short shorts and sandals instead of my big coat, scarf and gloves. Seriously, I've been waiting for the weather to break and it looks like the time might have come (**crosses fingers**) so I'm happy! This weekend is suppose to get up to the 60s so that means windows and sunroof down...Thank God. Are you guys ready for Spring/Summer? I think I'm more excited for my trips since I've been longing to go on a vacation, so as of now I have three lined up and I can't wait (bikini season, here I come!). It's almost time to transition that closet and embrace new Spring trends, are you ready? In the meantime between time don't forget to set your clock forward on Sunday it's officially daylight saving time! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, I'm working on another "Talk That Talk Tuesday" article that I can't wait to share with you all next week! Stay tuned :)

Any 1980s babies out there? Better yet any Clueless fans out there?! My girl, Iggy Azalea just released a exact replica of the movie Clueless and of course she is the one and only Cher Horawitz. The video is like watching the movie all over again, I absolutely love it! Nostalgic memories indeed...I remember being completely obsessed with my furry pens and wants to wear plaid all the time but how could I forget how much I talked like Cher and Dionne?! Check out Iggy's video below:
