Happy Friday beautiful people! Last week I told you about all the amazing opportunities that have been coming my way so I wanted to share the final images from the Urban Sweetheart photo-shoot that I styled almost 2 weeks ago. The photo-shoot was a creative collaboration of Sirdonea and I, we decided that Georgetown would be the perfect place to capture all of the outfits we put together. How great is this two-piece outfit? The material is light and it definitely moves well in front of the camera. The hat was the perfect touch to this look!

 If you know me, then you know how much I loveeeee crop tops! How fun is this look? You can pair this outfit with high-heel sandals or a fashionable flat sandal (first picture).

I really adored this shift dress, it's fun and flirty as well as super comfortable.

 This last look was the perfect way to end the shoot, it was Summer cool and a great look for a day out in the city. Overall, it was a great shoot and I'm glad that our vision came to light, team work is EVERYTHING! I've added these pictures to my portfolio HERE! FASHION BREAKING NEWS: BALMAIN X H&M Collection!

Sunday got so much sweeter when word dropped last night, that the creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing would be collaborating with H&M for an exclusive collection! His model friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn wore gave us a little preview (see below) of what's to come. Do you like? I'M SWOONING, GAGGING AND SAVING MY COINS lol!  

 

 The collection will hit the stores November 5, and will feature clothing and accessories for both women and men. The question is, Are you #HMBalmaination or nah?!          

FASHION NEWS: The Limited Debuts 'Scandal' Inspired Collection

Olivia Pope, I mean Kerry Washington is BACK and looking amazing post baby! I can only wish to be as fabulous and effortless as she always appears to be, I'm loving the cobalt blue dress and her hair is perfection! Kerry made a show stopping appearance at Good Morning America to show off her new collaboration with The Limited that is now available online and in-stores just in time for the new season of Scandal! The collection has about 40 pieces that can be worn interchangeably with one another and channels the "Livvy look" perfectly. Price range? $49 to $298...which is fairly reasonable in my opinion. The collection is perfect if your looking for work attire this Fall/Winter, I'm definitely going to grab a few pieces but I'm completely swooning over this Cape Trench Coat. Check out Kerry, Costume Designer Lyn Paolo and Limited head designer Elliot Staples on Good Morning America discussing a few looks from the collection below:

FASHION NEWS: Alexander Wang x H&M Collection [11-06-14]

Over the weekend Stylista's got the best news of their life (well at least I did) when H&M announced the next designer collaboration. During the Coachella Music Festival last weekend (I'm so mad that I missed it, next year I'm there!!), famed designer Alexander Wang revealed his collaboration with H&M at an exclusive party. Wang is now the first American designer to partner with H&M and the timing couldn't be even more perfect as the Swedish retailer celebrated their 10th anniversary of designer collaborations. Although deets on the collection have been sealed tight, we hear that there will be some "never have been done before" moments and collection for both men/women released on November 6th, 2014! MARK YOUR CALENDARS for WANG X H&M!

Well I'm super excited to let you know that we will get a glimpse into the fashionable story of the Pop Singer turned Fashion Designer's life very soon. The Interactive Documentary of Victoria Beckham will kick off on tomorrow, January 29th at 3p.m. GMT/10 a.m. EST, where fans can ask her questions during a live Q&A session before the actual documentary premieres on Thursday, January 30th. In the meantime between time check out the trailer of "Five Years The Victoria Beckham Fashion Story" below:

Pop singer and Fashion Killa, Rihanna has been tapped by Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing to be the face of Balmain's spring/summer 2014 campaign! Any sneaker heads out there?! Comfortable is the new chic and if you've been living under rock let me be the first person to let you hip you to the latest trend.....SNEAKERS! Now a days, it's not foreign to see your favorite Supermodels or Celebrities rocking their sneakers on the red carpet or on their way to the club. Model/Actress/Singer, Teyana Taylor has added another title to her name as she will launch her women’s Harlem GLC sneaker On Feb 15th! According to Teyana the shoe pays tribute to her love for retro basketball sneakers especially those in the 1990s. I'm totally digging the rubber wrapped wire in black satin and the bronzy color. The shoe retails for $140...worth the buy?

RECAP: Fashion Group International Spring 2013 Trend Event

 

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of attending the Fashion Group International DC Spring 2013 Trend event and I must say I learned alot. Being totally obsessed with fashion I knew that this was an event I had to go to! The evening kicked off with remarks from Editor-In-Chief of Washingtonian Bride & Groom Magazine discussing the DC fashion scene as well the Mrs Obama's Inaugural dress choice. After a few minutes of discussing the state of DC fashion (which is on the rise if you ask me) we got straight to the Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Trends! I jotted down some notes from the presentation and was in complete awe of all the trends that are expected for the upcoming season. Below is a list of all the Spring 2013 Trends from head to toe that you need to know about, thank me later! Let me know some of your favorite Spring 2013 trends you look forward to seeing :)  

 

 

HAIR:

• Messy hair is totally in (bushy/frizzed and the 'just got out of bed')!
• Sleek slick back hair
• The fishtail braid is back and definitely here stay as well as little braids
• The side-part is definitely the rave (the "comb over")
• Bun it up/top-knot
• The middle-part is also an ongoing trend you should see
• Wavy hair

MAKE-UP:



• Dewy skin is in!
• Naked/Nude face (keep the face clean and very bare)
• Bushy/untamed brows (very bold and pronounced)
• Bold eye shadows with the bare face
• Deep lip colors (red & purple have been seen in many shows)
• Deepen the brows to make them bolder with eye pencils
• The eye-lid color mostly seen is pink and one's that sparkle (don't be afraid to throw on the glitter) 

ACCESSORIES:

• Heavy metals will be worn this upcoming season (expect to see alot of silver)
• Clutches (big envelope style, clear/see-through and of course ones that accompany your wrist)
• Cuffs that are worn on the wrist are HUGE this season, stack up appropriately
• Necklaces that are very bold and accentuate the neck will be seen alot this season
• Over-sized shoulder bag
• Boxed bags

OUTERWEAR:

• Over-sized coats
• Motorcycle/Biker jackets
• Tailored blazers without the tail
• Trench coats are STILL in demand
• Cape coats

SHIRTS/TOPS/BLOUSES:

• Crop tops are still in!
• Revealing "bra tops" will be heavily seen this season (exposed or "peek-a-boo" style).
• Boostia's will be a trend that coming back
• Mod 60s, Hipster 70s, Punk Rock/Madonna 80s fashion is to be expected
• Blouses (preferably white) are here to stay
• Tuxedo shirts will be a staple for your closet
• Revealing/Over-sized/Make-Room-Style shirts
• Prints galore (Checkered, Stripes & Plaid)
• Layers on top of layers

 PANTS/SHORTS:

• Prints are heavily seen with the pants this season (over-sized)
• Tapered pants that accompany the "Tuxedo" style
• Leather leather leather! (Oh and....lace)
• Black/White are huge color this season
• Short shorts are definitely a must-have!
• Pajama pants are making it's way out of the house too...

 SHOES: 

• Sneakers (sneaker wedges)
• Sandal boots
• Wedges are on the edge
• Birkenstocks are revisited this season!  
• Gladiator sandals
• Strappy heels
• It's all about being comfortable this season by looking chic of course

BAD GALS DO IT WELL: Rihanna Set To Launch 'River Island' for London Fashion Week

Our Bad Gal of them all, Rihanna is more than ready to show you what she's been working on! The Pop Star/Perfumista/Fashion Icon and Fashion Designer has collaborated with British high street brand River Island. According to WWD, Rihanna will be launching the collection at London Fashion Week, the collection is made of up clothing and accessories! I'm totally excited to see what Rihanna has worked on, we all know her style is nothing short of SICK. The collection will be available to purchase online and in store on March 5th. If you're an American like myself, you can get your River Island clothing and accessories at Opening Ceremony. Happy Shopping Ladies!

SWEXY WEDNESDAY: David Beckham for H&M Holiday Campaign

 

Somebody turn off the HEAT.....David Beckham just set the place on fire! Ladies, get your men ready for the Holiday season with David Beckham's third collection of H&M Bodywear. The new styles are said to include a hooded morning gown, draw-string pyjama pants, Henleys and long johns with padded elbows and knees, and lounging shorts and T-shirts, as well as a towel.

So we have....Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s November 7, Maison Martin Margiela x H&M  on November 15, and just this week I found out that Prabal Gurung is collaborating with Target for a line to be released in February 10, 2013. How exciting is this?! Check out the video above to get a glimpse of what's to come from Prabal Gurung, the designer says "One thing I kept coming back to was the idea of love....whether it's having it, pining for it, losing it, wanting it. Most of the collection I do has been inspired by love." ......Oh, I love it already!

BIRTHDAY HAUTENESS: Angela Simmons Turns 25 In Her Own Design

Happy Birthday to the beautiful Angela Simmons! Just last week she was our Hottie of the Hump Day and this week the Virgo doll turned 25 in dress she designed herself. Check out the all the Birthday Hauteness below:

Found this picstitch on NB and loved how you could see every angle of this lace/exposed zipper/mermaid dress! Angela looks great, and do I spy another tatt?? I hear she has 9 now.

 

 

Towards the end of the night the Birthday girl unzipped the mermaid part of the dress to dance the night away! Happy Birthday Angela, 25 looks great on you :)

FASHION NEWS: Rachel Zoe Will Launch Jewelry & Cold Weather Accessories

Celebrity Stylist and Fashion Designer Rachel Zoe is adding a little more to her Fall 2012 collection. She is designing costume jewelry and cold weather accessories that will retail from $95 to $1,500. This collection will include hats, hoods, scarves, gloves, stoles, and wrist warmers in luxe materials like cashmere, leather, and both real and faux fur. As far as jewelry Zoe has decided to go more for more 'Art Deco-inspired' pieces trimmed with tassels, knots, Swarovski crystals and jade and onyx stones, retailing for about $195. Anyone else excited to see the collection? I love her line already so I'm excited to see more from her! #idie

Doo.Ri for Macy’s (February 15)

Doo-Ri held a press preview of the line hitting Macy's stores soon! The collection includes draped knits, fabulous dresses, and standout graphic brushstroke prints on a black-and-white dress and red-and-white topper. Doo-Ri Chung says, "My clothes have always been about making women feel elegant and modern, which is why I am so excited about this capsule collection...It truly embodies the confidence and creativity of the modern woman."
