We're unofficially in our last days of summer and I must say that's been one helluva a ride. I've gotten the opportunity to do some amazing things and learn some valuable lessons this summer. Most importantly, I got a chance to relax after school came to an end and actually spend time figuring out what I wanted to do next. Lets just say that I refuse to be RIGHT HERE next year, I know God has amazing things up his sleeves for me when the timing is right so until then I'm soaking up every second, bass in every minute, and making memories with the people I love the most. I'm capping off my last days of summer by attending Made in America music festival with my BFFs. It should be a great way to end summer and check off some things off my Summer Bucket list! WaHoo... 

 

Because I have an obsession with Tumblr I'm strongly considering getting a page soon (stay tuned), but until then check out a few pictures that I found over the Summer in between my own blogging.

50 Years Ago...

 

 

Today we commerate 50 years ago when Martin Luther King, Jr. stood on the steps at the Lincoln Memorial and delivered one of the most beautiful speeches in history. He changed the face of American and fought for freedom. Today is such a special day and I'm proud to be an African American woman that has the right to vote, sit, stand, ride and say what I want. I thank him for all he has done and hope that we as a people are making his DREAM come true.

And still tears comes to my eyes whenever I hear this speech. Powerful indeed! Rest peacefully Dr. King. WE have a dream....

FASHION...NOT SO FASHION NEWS: "Selfie" Can Be Found In The Dictionary!

...because sometimes the best photographer can be YOU! The "selfie" craze has officially taken over 2012/2013 and dare I say I love it? Lol! I'm totally guilty of taking selfies and posting them on my instgram (follow me: @ms_schuntel ...shameless plug!) because I think that I know my angles alot better than someone else taking it. My first picture on instagram was a selfie, and although I limit my posting of my selfies my friends and I love sending them eachother in our group chats!  

So what is a SELFIE? According to the Oxford Dictionary it is “A photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website” and lets note occasional selfies are acceptable, but posting a new picture of yourself every day isn’t necessary. I think we all need to make that mental notes, too many selfies is just a little obsessive..

BUMP OF THE WEEK: Eva Marcille

 

OH BABY, OH BABY! Last week at the BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards Top Model Eva Marcille showed up with her Rapper Beau, Kevin McCall sporting a little baby bump in a floor length black dress with a huge smile to match. Eva is apparently 5 months preggers and dare I say how fabulous she looks?! The Fab-Mommy-To-Be was always a favorite of mine from the CW's Top Model show and it will be super interesting to see her pregnancy style. No worries, we'll be tracking her style eveolution....

BAG CRUSH: Celine Nano Luggage Bag

I've been crushing since Spring on the "Mini Celine" bags (also known as the Nano/Baby sister of Larger Celine Tote)and seems like celebs have been too. I'm notoriously known to carry a big bag and since school is over (Thank You God), I have no excuse for carrying a life-size bag around.

 

Classic black is always a must have!

 

I'm learning to condense my life and sometimes you don't need all that stuff in your bag so I've been deciding what mini-bag I want and I'm totally crushing over Celine's mini-bag collection.

 

I'm totally about that cross-strap life and that carry it on my arm life...

 

 

 

 I think this would a great staple Fall/Winter. I need a bag or two to add to my little collection, what do you think? Yes or Nah?! Decisions....

Happy Tuesday!

I had such a great weekend and totally missed out on the VMA's Sunday night BUT I got the skinny on who looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet. The Video Music Awards took place at the Barclay's center in Brooklyn, NY for the first time ever and some of my favorite celebs brought their A game. Let's get into my favorite looks of the evening, beginning with....

 

Ciara blew my mind in this Givenchy gown (similar to the dress Beyonce wore at the 2012 Met Gala). She was runner up to my favorite look of the night... 

 

 

Taylor Swift gave us old hollywood glam with a touch of sexy in this navy blue  Hervé Léger by Max Azria gown.

Coco Rocha stuck with her grunge look and dare I say how much I want that leather biker jacket! Swoon.

 

Selena Gomez is just a force to be reckoning with, she always serves the right amount of sexiness. She is wearing a Atelier Versace gown and corset underneath..whew the HAUTENESS!

 

Jennifer Hudson rocked my entire world with this leather skirt (I've been on the prowl for the perfect leather skirt for a few weeks now).

Rita Ora was by far my favorite look of the night as wore a one-of-a-kind Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown complete with a feathered train sure to make the Fashion Gawds die happy.

Hollywood It Couple, Robin Thicke & Paula Patton looked stunning.

 

My new favorite, Naya Rivera kept it chic and effortless in a black dress.

 

The Carters skipped out on the VMA's but made a fashionable appearance at the after-party. Beyonce wore a super sexy Tom Ford dress and smile :)
