TRENDSPOTTING TUESDAY: Distressed Denim

One of my favorite trends this season is the distressed denim, it's a trend that seems to have no limits or boundaries! The 90s grunge is here to stay and I must say that the 90s were the best times ever. I'm super obsessed with denim on denim right now and I have an attachment to jeans that fit me perfectly so after a few (more like a million) wears, it gets some rips and tears to it and voila they are distressed without even trying. From boyfriend/skinny jeans to short shorts and even skirts, this distressed denim look is becoming a staple in everyone's closet! What's not to love?! See how some of my favorites are embracing the distressed denim look below.

Are you inspired to make or re-create some distressed denims?!

CAMPAIGN SWAG: Lady Gaga for Versace Spring/Summer 2014

If you've been seeing a lot of Versace lately on Lady Gaga, then I think we've solved the mystery. The pop star is the newest face for Versace's Spring/Summer 2014 collection and looking pretty darn good in the campaigns so far. The campaign is said to show how Lady Gaga embodies the "Versace essence: creative, experimental, fearless." I think that this is a perfect fit for Versace and can you believe how amazing Lady Gaga looks?! I'm obsessed with the Dontella Versace inspired blonde ambition hair it's decadence and glam all wrapped up in one. Werk it Lady Gaga!

“I am honored that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign. I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA.” -Donatella Versace

BEST DRESSED: American Music Awards 2013

The American Music Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California Sunday night and the red carpet was full of unforgettable moments. Since I was unable to watch the awards show I got a chance to catch up on all the glam happening on the red carpet and managed to compile a list my favorite looks of the night. Who was on your best dressed list?

Christina Aguilera kept it classy in this very old Hollywood glam look. White is in this season, just in case you forgot. #newrules

Kendall and Kylie Jenner stayed true to their style and kept things very black & white.

Naya Rivera came to WIN in this very sexy black gown. I'm obsessed with that gold cuff.

Nicole Richie slayed the red carpet in cut-out white dress. I'll take that clutch ; )

Ke$ha actually caught my eye in a good way, I really love the drama of the long leg and hair.

With her bobbi pins (also known as the "dubbie wrap") in tow, Rihanna managed to still look fabulous while accepting the ICON award! Stuntin' on ya at 25 years old, I'm not mad at her...

Taylor Swift took the night in this mini gold number while copping a few awards herself.

*drum roll*.....My absolute favorite look of the night was on Zendaya Coleman! How perfect is this look? I love the one shoulder shirt paired perfectly with the long flowing hair coupled with silver accents. She nailed it, what a Stylista on the rise.

Zoe Saldana stayed trendy but sophisticated in this sheer dress that I'm still swooning over. I need her hair regimen ASAP, it's just so perfect.

EVENT RECAP: Hashtag Lunch Bag DC Edition!

Hello, beautiful people!

As we are on the brink of the first of many holidays, it's that time to GIVE back! This past Sunday was my first time participating in the Hashtag Lunch Bag Movement happening through out the country. If this is your first time hearing about it, let me give you the cliff notes version of the whole experience. First, we met at Lima Lounge in Washington, DC to assemble the sandwiches, cookies, fruits and decorated brown paper bags before distributing the lunch bags to locations where homeless people frequent. It was such a great experience to actually assemble and distribute to people in need right before Thanksgiving. I hear that DC was not the only place doing this as well, places like New York and Chicago were also making a difference in many peoples lives last Sunday.

This charity event is does not discriminate against age either, as young children were also apart of the assembly process...they put sticky notes on the lunch bags and made hearts and #hashtags apart of their signature when it came to the decorating! I was so amazed to see this happening early on a Sunday morning and was truly honored to be apart of such a great movement happening all over the country. Myself and my bestfriend, Derrick were primarily in charge of counting the bags before distribution and I'm super proud to say that we assembled approximately 250+ bags, how awesome is that?! Check out a few of the pictures from Hashtag LunchBag DC Edition below:

What a great Sunday it was, I love giving back because I'm so blessed to have shelter and food this season. I'm looking forward to participating in the next Hashtag Lunchbag next month (I'll be sure to post about it before actually participating so more people can have the opportunity to volunteer). I'm even more excited about the 5K Thanksgiving Trot for Hunger that I'm doing in 2 days....stay tuned for a full-recap! Stay warm East Coasters :)

HAUTE FRIDAY: Everything I am is Because of Her!

I've been having one of those weeks but that all changed yesterday, as it was my Fab-Mommy's birthday and it put me in the best mood. I'm extremely blessed to be her daughter and that I get to share her with my other siblings and father. She's a force to be reckoning with and definitely a person that will make you feel like anything is achievable. After attending a few funeral's recently, I've realized more than ever how important mother's are and how lucky I am that she's in my life. When people ask me about my style or my attitude, I always credit her for all she's taught me. Without her there would be no me. Anyway, last night my family and I took her to dinner in the city where we enjoyed amazing Thai food, drinks, laughed really loudly and of course the tears came during the speeches. If I've learned anything over my twenty something years of life it's the cherish your family and love unconditionally. My favorite quote is "Love the people God gave you, because He will need them back one day" and indeed this has rang true to some of my closest friends so LOVE people more!

Honestly the best compliment I can ever receive is that I remind people of my mom! What a woman of strength, courage, poise, style, class and most of all selflessness :)

Kisses to my Fab-Mommy, age ain't nothing but a number....you're as young as you feel! I love you!

Have a great weekend...I'll be back next week with some fabulous posts before Thanksgiving weekend kicks off! Don't forget to follow my tumblr page: www.schuntelxo.tumblr.com

VIDEO OF THE DAY: "Bound 2" by Kanye West (featuring Kim Kardashian)

My favorite song off the Yeezus album "Bound 2" finally has a video that I actually really love. It's artistic, futuristic and Kanye fashion....it's gotten mixed reviews, but I love it for the most part. The video also features Kanye's fiancé Kim Kardashian showing a lot of skin, check out the video below:

I know you're tired of loving, of loving
With nobody to love, nobody, nobody (Uh-huh, honey)

STYLE ICON SPOTLIGHT: Naomie Harris

I have to admit that I've been slacking on posting but no worries I found my mojo and I'm back like I never left. Recently I started a tumblr page which I've been drawing inspiration from (www.schuntelxo.tumblr.com) and have become utterly obsessed with so be sure to follow that page as well! In other news, I've falling madly in love with famed actress, Naomie Harris' style. Seems like she has the right people on her style team as she's been killing the red carpet to promote her newest film "Mandella: Long Walk To Freedom" and seems to have the designers eager to dress her up in their finest. Check out the newest Style Icon wearing some of my favorite looks below:

Classic, elegant, chic, bold, confident, effortless and most importantly timeless!

Does Naomie Harris get your vote as a Style Icon in the making?

SNEAK PEEK: Karrueche's "The Kill Society" Winter Collection

Karrueche Tran also known as "Kae" has finally released snap shots from the much anticipated fashion collection for her & boyfriend, Chris Brown's unisex collection entitled "The Kill Society". The collection seems to very reminiscent of both of the couple's style and will be in high demand I'm sure of it. I'm actually really loving a lot of the collection thus far, although prices have not been released I expect this collection to be reasonably priced. Can't wait to see more from the collection!

Check out more photos from the "The Kill Society" featuring Karrueche Tran herself below:
